I watched the first (aired) episode of Firefly ("The Train Job") in September 2002 and by the third aired episode ("Our Mrs. Reynolds") was completely hooked on a TV show for the first time. Then very quickly came the message board posting, fan site creation, cancellation, but not so much with the ending there.
